The concentrator adjusts slurry total-solids content, whereas the doser delivers a controlled volumetric or mass flow. The study establishes coupled balances for water removal, volatile-solids (VS) input, hydraulic retention time (HRT), organic loading rate (OLR), and dosing error. A transparent numerical design example is provided for a 20 m³ working-volume reactor. The values in the example are assumed design inputs rather than measured experimental observations. The proposed approach identifies feasible concentration and dosage combinations, highlights the inherent trade-off between water savings and slurry pumpability, and defines an experimental verification protocol.
